A picture is worth a thousand words. In our case, it's 1080 words. That's how much bigger a 1080p scan is compared to our competitors' transfers. We are excited to offer our newest service: 8mm, super 8, and 16mm film transfer via HD-SDI to uncompressed 4:2:2 HD 1920x1080p digital format. Whether you have priceless home movies from the 1950's sitting in a box somewhere or you are shooting a production on film today, our technology in the hands of experienced operators will ensure your digital transfer will preserve the subtleties and beauty of your film.

Each individual frame of film is individually captured as a still image and later assembled into an uncompressed video file. This enables us to output the transferred film to any frame rate without flicker or blended frames. Our transfers utilize an aerial image transfer process through the help of Broadcast-Quality 3CCD cameras in conjunction with special film transport mechanisms. The film frame floats in mid air while the optics of the camera, slated for 1080 lines of resolution, focuses on the image. With the absence of a mirror, screen, or box, this process produces extremely vibrant images without any loss in color fidelity.

The resulting image is sent directly via HD-SDI to one of our computer workstations. This process allows us to edit out leaders, blank spots, add soundtracks, titles, and output to various video formats. If DVD is the desired output format, complete customization of chapter marks, navigation, and more is available.

We accept 8mm, Super 8 silent, Super 8 sound, 16mm silent, and 16mm sound for transfer on our frame by frame transfer equipment.
